Ncsu 2023 Football Schedule – Carter’s 8-game winning streak at Carter-Finley Stadium ends the 7-season streak at Carter-Finley Stadium. Open season 2 matches 3 games in a row
This year is different from previous years. NC State will likely open the season ranked in the top 15 in the nation. Heck, some even think we could make the top 10. It doesn’t matter what the last poll said. NC State has to prove it on the spot. Can they? Who knows, but the first ingredient you’ll need to make this prediction is the future timeline we’re in now.
Ncsu 2023 Football Schedule
Now, that’s obviously an exciting way to open the season, but it also comes with some risks. NC State will get a better team than ECU, but this will be a game where ECU will be cornered. It’s their Super Bowl, championship game, fans, coaches and players are happy to topple the state-ranked Wolfpack and claim the state as their own. ECU went 5-3 in Conference USA last season and 7-5 overall. Remember, this is their place.
Who Are Nc State Football’s Opponents Based On New Acc Schedule Model?
If they can get out of that game, it will be against Charleston-South. Charleston South isn’t a true bowler, but they don’t fit heavily with the packaging. The Bucks were 4-6 last season and 3-4 in the Big South.
Then they host Texas Tech. The Red Knights were coming off a poor season (by their standards), going 3-6 in the conference and 7-6 overall. They have a new coach and although Donovan Smith had a good season at QB, expect him to fight for the starting role this season. Most predicted Texas Tech to finish near the bottom of the BIG 12, but this is one team you can’t sleep on.
After that, it’s just one more session before the biggest game of the season. UCONN comes to Carter on Sept. 24. Now, UCONN, despite the name, is the biggest bowler on the schedule. The Huskers had a disappointing season last season, losing all but one of their games. That’s right, they were 1-11. Sure, it’s a new season, but that doesn’t help much. UCONN’s recruiting class is ranked 110th in the nation.
Game 5 Preview: Clemson Hosts Ncsu
Then he headed to Clemson. If the Pack gets out of this game, it will be a battle for the ACC. The Tigers will likely start the season ranked in the top 15, so this could indeed be a top 10 matchup. It’s quite a game to be an ACC opener. The Tigers will be without defensive coordinator Brent Venable, who left for Oklahoma. Will their defense be as good as ever? Who knows, but they’re counting on it. Their attack is also in doubt as they look to DJ Uigalleli to emerge as a star. Our bet is that he won’t start this season, but we’ll wait.
Next up is FSU at home. The Noles struggled last year, finishing 4-4 in the ACC tournament and 5-7 overall, but they won’t go down easy. Quarterback Jordan Travis has shown some promise, and their offensive line will continue to be good. Defensively, they went from giving up 36 points per game to 26.5 last year, and most of that defense is back.
After FSU, NC State heads to Syracuse. They have 3 straight losing seasons, their quarterback is questionable, and their coach has been as good as not better this season. They may be selected for the final position in the division.
Nc State Football Faces Charleston Southern In Home Opener
After that, Virginia Tech comes to town. The Eagles are 4-4 in ACC play and 6-7 overall. They finished third in the Coastal Division. He could be selected to finish there again next season.
Then there’s Wake Forest at home. Damon Dex will compete with NC State and Clemson for the top spot in the Atlantic. Sam Hartman is back, A.J. Perry. However, they lost their leading rusher and another top receiver, Jacquary Roberson, to the NFL. Wake is going to be another offensive monster, so the Pack defense needs to be prepared.
Then it’s another game. BC is coming to Raleigh this time. The Eagles were 2-6, 6-6 overall in the Atlantic last year. QB Phil Yarkovich, who was injured for most of last season, will return and elect to forego the NFL draft. Their top receivers Zay Flowers and Pat Garvo also return. There is reason to believe that BC will be much better than last season.
State Near Bottom Of Acc In Football Strength Of Schedule Ranking
After that, the head of state will travel to Louisville. The Cardinals are 4-4 in ACC play and 6-7 overall. It was fourth in the Atlantic. They bring back Malik Cunningham at QB, but they were hit by turnover mistakes on defense. It’s hard to see Louisville getting much better, but hey, Cunningham could have a breakout season.
The regular season ends with a trip to UNC. The Tar Heels will have to figure out who their new QB is after Sam Howell leaves the NFL. They will be selected in the Coastal Division, but there are many questions without Howell. Their defense wasn’t great last season, but they brought in Gene Chizik (former Auburn coach) as their defensive coordinator, so I think you can expect some improvement.
Overall we enjoyed the national schedule this season. We’re dreading the ECU game on the road, and the preseason hype will prepare the opponent and their fans for a game that will do little. But then again, it’s the ECU.

Should be an easy game against UCONN, then we’ll favor Clemson the first weekend in October.
We like a bye week before Thursday night’s game against Virginia Tech and then an extended break before hosting Wake Forest.
Like last year, we like to play UNC to end the season because no matter what happens, you have to end the regular season with a winning game.

“Philanthropy helps the university innovate and reach higher levels. We thank the Dorrances for leading the entire wolf pack and building this meaningful family legacy.
A new program through the Doron Family Foundation is called OnePack Empowerment and benefits NC State students who are challenged with functional skills critical to academic success, such as organization, planning, prioritization, task completion and decision-making. Autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are just two diagnoses that may be associated with challenges in the field, but students with these challenges may not be formally diagnosed.
With a focus on one-on-one mentoring, individualized support plans, career preparation and additional specialized support, the program is designed to enhance academic and personal success and ensure students complete their degree.

Dorrance’s commitment is to pilot the program for five years, serving 50 students at a time. They encourage other donors and hope that more participants will contribute to OnePack Empowered as a source of ongoing support and mentorship in the years to come.
“It’s about leveling the playing field so students can achieve their dreams,” Dave Durin said. “It’s about going out to this group of students to create hope and a safe place to meet their needs. We hope this idea resonates with many alumni and others connected to NC State.
“This is something the school needs and the students need, and God has given us the ability to help,” he said.

NC State’s Department of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) oversees OnePack authorization, and staff are preparing for a spring 2024 rollout. DASA Vice President and Director Donna Scott expressed her appreciation for Dorrance recognizing a gap and taking steps to address it.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our institution, and especially for our students, who will benefit from this coverage program,” Scott said. “The first goal of the university and the DASA strategy
