Outside of Georgia’s matchup against Oregon that clinched a nationally-ranked 10-win streak and the future, the Bulldogs’ 2022 schedule was set up nicely for the team’s run to a playoff berth and a second straight national championship. Either way, that game won’t help the Bulldogs strengthen their team, but there will be opportunities to do so during SEC play.

Georgia’s lack of schedule strength in non-conference will not factor into the Bulldogs’ playoff hopes next season as the two-time defending champions. In fact, if they are able to flex their muscles and take advantage of the soft slate, Smart’s group has a chance to go back to No. 1.

Kentucky Football Schedule 2023: What To Know
That’s beneficial when Georgia loses to Alabama and LSU for the second year in a row during the regular season and doesn’t even have to play Texas A&M. We know the Aggies went 5-7 in 2022, but their roster remains one of the most comparable in the SEC to the Bulldogs through elite recruiting classes in terms of talent. UGA will begin the 2023 season with a back-to-back. Home conference contests begin at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. with the UT Martin Skyhawks on Saturday, September 2, followed by the Ball State Cardinals on Saturday, September 9.
Georgia was previously scheduled to play the Oklahoma Sooners on September 9, 2023, but the SEC canceled the game because the return game in Athens was not scheduled until the 2031 season, by which time the Sooners would be members of the SEC. .

Uga Picks Up Ball State To Replace Oklahoma On 2023 Schedule
After the trip to Jacksonville, Georgia hosts back-to-back games against the Missouri Tigers on Nov. 4 in Athens and the Ole Miss Rebels on Nov. 11. The Bulldogs then close out SEC play on the road against the Tennessee Volunteers on November 18th.
Georgia will close out the 2022 regular season on Nov. 25 at home at Sanford Stadium against the in-state Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The 2023 SEC Championship Game will be played on Saturday, December 2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
